2010-03-09Systems & Integration Test LeadMy client is one of the worlds leading media companies and is currently looking for a systems and integration test lead.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years or more in the delivery of full testing life-cycle.
Job Purpose
Set-up a practical testing approach, and build and manage a testing team, that delivers on the key principles of automating testing and Agile development (SCRUM) with continuous integration. Provide testing leadership for the Solution team, especially in the area of automating integration testing of complex systems which comprise in-house and third party components. This position reports to the Solution and Technical Delivery Lead.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall testing lifecycle within an agile development approach, including Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Systems Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing and Operational Acceptance Testing.
• Responsible for ensuring that non-functional aspects of the system are fully tested e.g. scalability, responsiveness, resilience, security, failover, maintainability, testability and useability.
• Ensure, where possible, that an automated approach is adopted for testing.
• Ensure that the systems integration test environment reflects the desired technical architecture.
• Ensure there is visibility and reporting of defects and resolution in Jira including trend information.
• Manage and provide testing leadership to a team of up to 10 testers to ensure that applications and systems meet their quality requirements before release and deployment.
• Manage the scheduling and resource allocation within the test team.
• Recruit and train testing resources to ensure that the team is fully operational.
Knowledge and Experience
• Test professional with at least 5 years experience of delivering the full testing lifecycle gained from working on large agile projects with a can do attitude.
• A strong technical/software development background will be essential including building, motivating and managing the performance of test teams.
• Experience of using a range of test automation tools and approaches to suit continuous integration and systems testing
• Experience of testing enterprise scale complex and geographically distributed environments with significant delivery pressures.
• Experience of managing 3rd party (outsourced) testing resources.
• Experience of testing applications developed in a mixed of operating systems and databases including Linux, Windows 2003, Solaris, Postgres, DB2 and Oracle.
• Experience of working with virtualised server and storage environment using Xen and VMWare.
• Experience of devising and executing non-functional tests.
• Experience of using Jira and Confluence as ticketing, reporting and collaboration tools.
• Experience of introducing Agile testing concepts (e.g. TDD and Automation) into non agile teams including coaching and mentoring.
• Experience of working in a broadcast or post-production environment would be an advantage.

Required Knowledge and Experience
